Founded by designer Jackie Gutierrez, Postella takes classic elements from the golden era glamour of Joan Crawford to the groovy wardrobe of Farrah Fawcett and fuses them with fresh, original prints and an understanding of how women live and work today, always producing clothing that's comfortable, progressive and playful, but still luxurious and distinctly feminine.
In the desert of Arizona Jackie began sewing clothing with her mother at the age of seven, inspired both by the rich colors and smells of her surroundings and a beautiful collection of curling photographs form the 50's and 60's Chicano family. The combination of those dreamlike vintage images with the exotic earthy brightness of the wilderness still resonates deeply in her work. She later refined her talent by obtaining her fashion design degree from the Otis College of art and Design in Los Angeles.
Obsessive, passionate and a confessed workaholic, Jackie is uniquely tuned to absorbing unexpected details and incorporating them in new ways to push her fabric, trims, beads, prints and colors to their limits, but always with loving care and grounded sense of what makes a genuinely wearable, fun and attractive garment.
